Know Your Body - 33

Today's Fact

Some of you may be taking medicines for hyper tension. But are you aware that Blood pressure is only an act of correcting the body's other organs. Say for example, even gastric problem results in high blood pressure. In the same way a liver / kidney malfunctioning may result in high blood pressure, as heart tries to pump more blood to the specific organ. What this denotes to us, is that the heart (being the KING OF ORGANS) is trying to correct some other organs which is deficient in its functioning. But allopathy perceives all these to be problems of the heart and thereby tries to correct it/control BP by giving external medicine. When you start taking such medicine, it not only results in other side effects (and there is no main effect as such !!!!), but stops the correction of the other organ that has been affected as well.

For more reading, go through this book.....Fazlur Rahman explains in clear terms why you should not take allopathic medicines for high blood pressure. ("
நீங்களும் அக்குபங்க்சர் டாக்டர் ஆகுங்கள்" page 26)

Today's Tip

This point is used symptomatically for emergency situations only.  Otherwise for treating the patient with high blood pressure, normally pulse diagnosis helps, in identifying the actual organ that needs treatment, and a relevant point is needled/pressured depending on the condition of the patient.
Liver 3 , the 3rd point in the liver meridian helps in reducing high blood pressure. Gently pressing this point for 15-20 seconds would reduce the blood pressure and bring it to normalcy.

Another herbal way to reduce BP. Boil a glass of water, take out of stove and keep aside. Put the petals of 4 or 5 hibiscus flowers (
நாட்டு செம்பரத்தை)  into the hot water, keep aside for 5 minutes, The water would immediately turn to red in  colour. Then throw away the petals and drink the warm water. Doing this 2 or 3 days in a week, normalises heart functioning, reduces palpitation, even controls anger.

Caution: This point should not be pressured when the BP is already low, as it immediately further reduces the blood pressure.

Some facts about Acupuncture

Widespread use of acupuncture began about 2600 BC. when Emperor Huang Ti ordered that acupuncture replace all other forms of medicine. It was used, not only as a cure for illnesses, but in the maintenance of good health as well. Ancient Chinese physicians were paid only as long as their patients remained well (Lang 14). If a patient became ill, the doctor was required to pay his medical expenses.

The Chinese now explain that the decline of traditional medicine was the result of "cultural aggression by the imperialists" combined with the "economic aggression".  According to the them the West discredited Chinese medicine in order to impose its own pharmaceutical products and force upon them rather all the doubtful blessings of Western civilization
