Do you know that acupuncture points can be used to eliminate Jet lag ? This is a very interesting and useful that I read from a website recently, and wanted to share this with you all.....Those who travel frequently, try this and report please.....This is based on the Two Peak Hour Cycle of the 12 major organs of our body.

The instructions to do this are hereunder.

1) At the time of departure, set your watch to your destination time
2) Find the current time of your destination on the above chart.
3) Find the acupuncture point that corresponds to that 2-hour time frame.
4) Stimulate this (bilateral) point with a needle for 5 minutes, or by rubbing with the tip of a closed pen, 25-30 times in short blasts of 5 strokes.
5) Continue stimulating the points indicated for each of the ensuing 2-hour periods until you arrive at your destination.

Today's Fact

Generally, the emotion "Fear" affects the Kidney meridian. During pulse diagnosis, when there is an imbalance in the Kidney meridian, most often the person may be "fearful"., and it is vice versa. If a person is afraid, his energy flow in the "kidney" meridian, would be affected, resulting in all troubles related to this imbalance. The related sense organ is ear ,and hence there may be hearing impairment and so on..... When I say some imbalance in the energy and a particular organ, kindly do not think that the organ itself is affected, as in allopathy style.  It is only the energy flow of the particular meridian, and will get corrected as soon as it is treated. After treatment, the pulse would change drastically, as per our experience.

Today's Tip

P4, the 4th point in the Pericardium meridian is the point to be pressed, to alleviate "Fear".  It is a very good point for calming the mind, heart/chest pain, insomnia, melancholy/depression, fear and fright. With palm up, the point is on a line down the center of the fore arm, one thumbs width closer to the wrist from the midpoint of the forearm.

Today's Fact

After an emotional argument or thoughts that might depress you and if you feel as if your lung is choked, try this point......(துக்கம் நெஞ்சை அடைப்பது போல இருந்தால்)

Today's Tip

CV 17 - This  point, the 17th point in the CV meridian is termed as the "Spirit gate".  This point is famous for reducing anxiety, calming the spirit, and strengthening your higher self.

Technique: When you feel agitated, rub the point in a counterclockwise pattern to calm the spirit and body.  When you need to increase your heart energies (associated with our social energies and ability to engage others), massage in a clockwise pattern and visualize releasing pent up emotions, stress and agitation as you exhale slowly.   Visualize welcoming in calmness and serenity as you inhale.

Today's Fact

What should you do, to be really healthy ? In the present day set up with so many medical extravaganza around us....Really one needs to be "COURAGEOUS"  to follow/be aware of the right medical practices.......My son was born when I had high fever, so he was separated and kept in an air conditioned room, with all the normal routine tests (the X-ray person had to look out for his chest- he was so small, on the second day of the birth)....The neo natologist wrote every test he could conceive of., right from palmistry (he had a different "Regai" structure- which our Homeo doctor attributed to a very good structure- he had also learnt palmistry in Madras University)...... to scan......(to rule any/every possibility of any disease factor) ...And with all results normal (Thank God), he still prescribed a medicine for "Convulsions"....to be taken daily, and weekly check up with him (???) ........ We literally prayed that we should be sent home as soon as possible....(as our Homeo Doctor could not visit us in hospital).......as soon as we arrived home, our homeo doctor asked to throw out all medicines, He said - only if that medicine is taken daily , it will definitely cause convulsions......Now, I find Fazlur Rahman (MBBS) also repeating these words in his every book.........Our Homeo Doctor said the child was perfectly normal and we need not worry for anything and he is perfectly Normal.  And surprisingly our Homeo Doctor (76 years old) has  now learnt Acupuncture and is practicing touch therapy.....or pressure points......

Today's Tip

We have already discussed a pressure for easy delivery . LI4 in Know Your Body - 2.  Today we will see one more important point. UB 67. The exit point in the UB Channel. Gently pressing this point for a few minutes, will make the delivery very easy. In Pathanjali Health Centre, there is even testimony to patients for whom cesearean was prescribed and by simply by pressing this point (doctors unaware)...., normal delivery was possible....Additionally, if the mother to be is stressed, the pressure points for calming down the mind can also be pressed for a while........(discussed in Part 23 of this series)

Some more additional points....
Hoku - This point can be found on the top of your hand in the webbing between your thumb and index finger. Press on an angle underneath the bone that connects with the index finger. To stimulate contractions, rub the point. This point can be used for pain relief with steady pressure during contractions.
Spleen 6 - On the inside of the ankle, trace up four of mother's finger widths above the ankle bone. Rub for about 1 minute.
UB 32 - This point is halfway between the dimple in the buttocks and the spine. You can find it by tracing up one of the mother's finger width's above the top of the buttocks crease. You should feel a small depression where the point lies.
My daughter's Joke

I was earnestly explaining her the pressure points for sleep, with my experiences with Keshav's daughter......How to gently press the sinus points to get good sleep etc.,.She told me simply "Adhai vida better choice irukkudhu ammaa (too much vocabulary for a 2nd std)......"Kannai moodinaa thookkam varum".......Hearing this, My son says ...."Amma neenga acupuncture padikkiradhu waste.....Rithu evvalo simple-aa sollittaa paarunga"

Today's Fact:

Many of you would have smoking friends/relatives.....Do you really care for them....Then tell them these facts..."Quitting smoking is really important.....Do you know that cigarettes contain 40 cancer causing compounds out of the 4000 chemicals in it....Some of them are tar, carbon monoxide, nicotine, ammonia, formaldehyde, arsenic, DDT and hydrogen cyanide........"

Today's Tip

LI 5, the 5th point in the Large Intestine meridian , helps the person to aid in "Quitting smoking". This would focus on cutting the craving. Press this point for 3-5 minutes daily and see the results.

Mahsawari
